If you can’t access Preferences, then you need to do a full reset of Cookie.
Quit Cookie first.
You can restore your settings,
by first making a copy of all the files in this folder:
Then delete this folder:
Quickly skip through the setup.
And replace the files you copied earlier.
Then you should be able to restart Cookie with all your browser settings and favorites.
You still need to go into Preferences and update any settings you had customised (start at login, hide dock icon etc…)
Can concur, same issue here. M1 MBA, noticed that I got a terrible battery life, just 2 or 3 hours before I discovered that Safari Networking was pegged at 100% every time I took the machine out of sleep after a few hours.
I sorted this myself - it wasn't working because iCloud Drive wasn't enabled. I don't use ICD for anything so I didn't have it turned on. Hopefully this helps anyone else coming across the problem (a blurb about that in the preferences might be a good idea).
@sweetp Hi Russell, For other reasons I've had to rollback from Big Sur to Mojave of which I have the latest update, 10.14.6 (18G7016). I have installed Cookie 126.96.36.199. There is still an issue with this which may be a permissions problem. Even though I've unchecked the Apple website as a favourite, I still cannot delete the cookies.
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, thought there would be a notification of your reply. Cheers!
