A "Simple" Automation Using Keyboard Maestro
-
When using an e-commerce site for an extended period (i.e., greater than the auto-removal firing time), I may Pause cookie removal until the transaction is complete. I occasionally forget to re-Enable auto-removal, which exposes me to untold surveillance "capitalism" until I notice again, which is not OK. So I tried to automate the Pause/Enable toggle using Keyboard Maestro to check for the status of auto-removal and Enable it if necessary, except that I cannot because Cookie appears to both be and not be a proper app, at least as far as MacOS is concerned.
As a workaround, I simply display a gigantic message on the screen when my browser closes, but that is a kludge. I'm out of other ideas at the moment!
