I sorted this myself - it wasn't working because iCloud Drive wasn't enabled. I don't use ICD for anything so I didn't have it turned on. Hopefully this helps anyone else coming across the problem (a blurb about that in the preferences might be a good idea).

Please Sign In to iCloud
I get this message whenever I try to enable the sync for settings and favorites. I'm signed into iCloud on the machine I'm running Cookie on and the rest of my iCloud services are working normally. What am I missing? Thanks!
I found this thread with a similar issue, but it sounds like that user is logged in:
I get an error message stating that I need to open System Preferences and sign in. I'm running OSX Catalina, 10.15.7.

RE: Gear icon when executing
I try to keep my notifications for critical things. An extra notification for something that happens every time I close my browser isn't for me.
All good either way, I just liked the gear icon.

Gear icon when executing
In Cookie 5, I always liked the little gear icon that popped up in the menu bar after I closed a browser, letting me know that Cookie was working. This doesn't seem to be a thing in v6 - is there a setting somewhere to re-enable it?
If not - please consider adding it back. It was nice peace of mind.

Can't enable Safari at setup
Fresh install of OSX, Cookie v6.1.3, installed from the app store. I can run the Application and it looks to be working correctly, but I can't enable Safari. The "Allow" button for Global Access and the various ~/Library folders is greyed out,
The regular Enable button at the bottom right of this window is clickable, but it doesn't do anything. I'm logged in as an administrative user and have even gone as far as to launch Cookie from the terminal using sudo open.
What else can I try? Thanks!
