That seems to fix it. Question: will these fixes be integrated into the next official release or will Apple prevent that?

ClearingSafariCache.sh problem still there
I previously reported issues about endless clearingSafariCache.sh. For some months I stopped using Cookie until this morning when I took another look. Just wanted to let you know the problem remains with Cookie 5.5.4 beta. If it helps you find the cause I just wanted to mention that manually clearing history, cache and cookies does not cause the endless loop but removing unwanted Safari data does. Let me know if you need more info to fix this. Cheers.

RE: ClearSafariCache.sh Stuck
The clearSafariCache.sh endless process has returned despite changing permissions as you described previously. Permissions are:
[email protected] 1 cj staff 47 Nov 18 08:04 clearCookies.sh [email protected] 1 cj staff 119 Nov 18 08:04 clearSafariCache.sh [email protected] 1 cj staff 159 Nov 18 08:04 clearSafariHistory.sh
Even with Safari quit if I run Cookie and then quit Cookie the endless process returns. I have removed Cookie from StartUp Items for the time being in the hope you can find a permanent solution to this problem.

RE: ClearSafariCache.sh Stuck
I deleted Cookie and all associated files and scripts, reinstalled and still experienced the clearSafariCache.sh endless process. I then searched the forum and found your "chown " workaround which did the trick. Hopefully this is a temporary fix to be corrected in some future release, yes?

RE: Cookie 5 beta
Hi there. I've experimented with 5.x and there doesn't seem any compelling reason to upgrade from 4.x. In fact 4.5.3.1 seems stable (no crash on shutdown) and does what I experienced under Yosemite. Can you please explain the benefits of 5.x under ElCap. Also, when 5.x is released with there be an upgrade charge.

RE: Shutdown crash
4.5.3.1 launches and quits and no problem shutting down. Favorites can be managed while Safari is running and are retained on quit/relaunch. GREAT. I hope my feedback will help you with release of 5.x

RE: Cookie 4.5.2 Update Not Working
Russel, I don't know if you have been reading my separate posts about system crashes but if you so you'll recall that I have problems with 4.5.2 whereby on ShutDown the machine restarts with an error saying "your computer restarted because of a problem". I just downloaded 4.5.3 and the same problem remains, i.e. with Cookie not running the machine shuts down normally but if Cookie is running then shut down fails. I hope you eventually fix this but in the meantime I do not use Cookie.
