That seems to fix it. Question: will these fixes be integrated into the next official release or will Apple prevent that?

ClearingSafariCache.sh problem still there -
ClearingSafariCache.sh problem still thereI previously reported issues about endless clearingSafariCache.sh. For some months I stopped using Cookie until this morning when I took another look. Just wanted to let you know the problem remains with Cookie 5.5.4 beta. If it helps you find the cause I just wanted to mention that manually clearing history, cache and cookies does not cause the endless loop but removing unwanted Safari data does. Let me know if you need more info to fix this. Cheers.

ClearSafariCache.sh StuckNot wanting to jinx anything but I did a reboot and so far all is well!

ClearSafariCache.sh StuckPurchase directly from you april 30, 2016. Order #27069. Current rev 5.2.1.

ClearSafariCache.sh StuckThe clearSafariCache.sh endless process has returned despite changing permissions as you described previously. Permissions are:
-rwxr-xr-x@ 1 cj staff 47 Nov 18 08:04 clearCookies.sh -rwxr-xr-x@ 1 cj staff 119 Nov 18 08:04 clearSafariCache.sh -rwxr-xr-x@ 1 cj staff 159 Nov 18 08:04 clearSafariHistory.sh
Even with Safari quit if I run Cookie and then quit Cookie the endless process returns. I have removed Cookie from StartUp Items for the time being in the hope you can find a permanent solution to this problem.

ClearSafariCache.sh StuckI deleted Cookie and all associated files and scripts, reinstalled and still experienced the clearSafariCache.sh endless process. I then searched the forum and found your "chown " workaround which did the trick. Hopefully this is a temporary fix to be corrected in some future release, yes?

Cookie 5 betaHi there. I've experimented with 5.x and there doesn't seem any compelling reason to upgrade from 4.x. In fact 4.5.3.1 seems stable (no crash on shutdown) and does what I experienced under Yosemite. Can you please explain the benefits of 5.x under ElCap. Also, when 5.x is released with there be an upgrade charge.

Shutdown crash4.5.3.1 launches and quits and no problem shutting down. Favorites can be managed while Safari is running and are retained on quit/relaunch. GREAT. I hope my feedback will help you with release of 5.x

Shutdown crash4.5.3.1 doesn't want to launch even after reboot.

Cookie 4.5.2 Update Not WorkingRussel, I don't know if you have been reading my separate posts about system crashes but if you so you'll recall that I have problems with 4.5.2 whereby on ShutDown the machine restarts with an error saying "your computer restarted because of a problem". I just downloaded 4.5.3 and the same problem remains, i.e. with Cookie not running the machine shuts down normally but if Cookie is running then shut down fails. I hope you eventually fix this but in the meantime I do not use Cookie.

Shutdown crashAn update regarding the shutdown crash...
After the machine restarted twice I got an error message saying Mail had run out of application memory. Other app were similarly "paused" so I quit Cookie and restarted and all was then back to normal. I hope this feedback is useful to you in your development. I no longer use Cookie 4.x. and look forward to release of v5.

Shutdown crashHello again. I want to reopen an earlier report a few weeks ago about a system crash on shutdown that appears to be caused by Cookie. As I explained I did a clean nuke 'n pave ElCap and have since updated to OS X 10.11.1. I installed the latest Cookie version 4.5.2 but if I try to shut down the machine via the Shut Down command under the Apple icon in the menubar it does not completely shutdown (no spinning wheel) but restarts twice with a blue screen saying "there seems to be a problem with your system" (or words to that affect). When I quit Cookie then shutdown is normal with the usual spinning wheel for about 5 or 10secs followed by a complete shutdown. This is repeatable on a Macbook Pro and Macbook Air. Do you need more info from me to fix this problem?

Cookie, Safari and El CapitanGood Morning Russell, As you know from a different thread (http://sweetpproductions.com/support/showthread.php?tid=302), I found a problem with Cookie 4.4.1, 4.4.1.1 and 4.4.2 where with Safari quit and Cookie running the machine does not Shutdown correctly. Upon executing the Shutdown command the machine goes through what looks like a routine shutdown but then immediately restarts followed by a warning window saying the machine was improperly shutdown. With Cookie not running the machine shuts down normally and does not restart. Can you confirm this does not happen on your machine with Cookie 4.5? I would be happy to test if you want.

Shutdown crashI installed 4.4.2 and there remains a problem on OS X 10.11. On a MBP, with Safari quit and Cookie running if I do a Shutdown the machine immediately restarts and a kernel panic warning appears. This is the same symptom as previously reported on 4.4.1 and interim 4.4.1.1. If Cookie is quit then Shutdown completes as normal and no restart.

Shutdown crash4.4.1.1 is an improvement but some issues remain. Firstly, I got one repeat of the same failure to shutdown with the subsequent kernel panic error window. However I could not in the short time I have available reproduce this but it clearly remains an issue. Also, as others have pointed out it's not possible to delete cookies when Safari is running.

Shutdown crashI did a nuke and pave El Capitan 10.11. I installed Cookie 4.4.1. There is a reproducible and repeatable crash on shutdown. With Cookie running and showing in menu bar there is failure to complete shutdown with unending spinning wheel requiring hard restart or an immediate restart followed by the usual OS X failure error message. With Cookie disabled (quit) shutdown is normal.
