Cookie 6 is set to open at startup. When I check it immediately after startup, no browsers are listed in the side panel although the favourite websites are listed in the main window.
If I then quit and restart Cookie, the browsers are listed as I would expect and everything appears to function normally. This behaviour happens with both the app store and the direct sale versions - I have licences for both.
Permissions are:
named admin user: read / write
admin: read only
everyone: read only
I run as an ordinary (= non-admin) user.
I’ve not noticed this behaviour before so it might have been happening for some time, but has anyone any idea of the cause.

Cookie fails to recognise browsers -
Coolie not recognising BrowsersCokkie 6.5.1 is set to open at startup. When I check it, although all the unwanted cookies are listed no browers appear in the list window.
If I quit Cookie and then restart it the Browsers appear in the list and all appears to be OK.
I've tried this with both the app store and the direct versions - I've got licences for both.
Permissions are:
named admin user: read/write
admin: read only
everyone: read onlyI run as an ordinary user (not admin), so maybe this is the source of the problem. However I've done this since way back with no problem, so I can't fathom why it should suddenly start now.

clearSafariTPcache FailingHmm. Made a mistake there.
A more thorough check on the laptop running Mojave 10.14.6 and Safari 13.1.1 shows the same problem: spinning gear wheel in the menu bar which then shows 'failed' after quitting Safari and the clear cache script runs. -
clearSafariTPcache FailingFWIW I tried stopping Cookie6 and installed a copy of Privatus 6.1.8 to see what happened.
Again the same problem: following Safari -> quit the small gear wheel in the menu bar with clearSafariCache.sh failed.
Since the problem has started fairly recently it suggests that an update to either MacOS or to Safari is behind the problem. I also have a laptop running the last version of Mojave and that is not showing the same problem.
I should have added that permissions for Privatus are the same as those for Cookie6 -
clearSafariTPcache Failing@SweetP Unfortunately I think I've confused this thread, but I run as user.
The scripts folder is in ~/library/application scripts/com.sweetpproductions.CookieApp
Folder permissions are:
user (me): r/w
everyone: read onlyPermissions on the Scripts are:
User (me): R/w
staff: read only
everyone: read only -
clearSafariTPcache FailingRather than start a new thread I'll just point out that I'm having the same problem but with Safari cache. I get the same error as above but it's the Safard cache script that's failing/ I've not tried the tech preview scripts but that's probably duff as well.
I've done a complete - or AFAICT full delete - of Cookie6, reinstalled via the App Store and downloaded the scripts in the link above for both Safari and SafariTP. These are placed in ~/library/application scripts/com.sweetpproductions.CookieApp (4 scripts in all)
Since the problem may relate to Sandboxing, should the scripts be somewhere in ~/library/containers/com.sweetpproductions.CookieApp?
Permissions on ~/library/application scripts/com.sweetpproductions.CookieApp are: user r/w everyone no access
They are the same for ~/library/containers/com.sweetpproductions.CookieApp user r/w everyone no access
Anyone any further ideas?

Sync sessions automatically between two computersJust clocked that v2 is now available. I'm on Mojave so the automatic sync feature is out. However the import/export function although a bit of a faff does the trick.
Thanks for the update.
-
Sync sessions automatically between two computersPlease add another one for a sync feature.
In the meantime, is there a way of manually transferring session data? EG simply copy a folder across to the other machine.
For some reason the export utility dosn't work for me. -
HSTS Cookies not deletedI'm using cookie 6 app store version and notice that HSTS cookies are not being deleted for non-favourites. I have removal set to delete the caches on Safari &/or Cookie quit. The scripts are in place.
The cache removal script 11/04/19 is:
usr/bin/killall -KILL nsurlstoraged
find /private/var/folders ! -name "SafariTechnologyPreview" -name "com.apple.Safari"
-exec rm -r {} ; 2>/dev/nullNot sure why there needs to be a separate script but I seem to have aquired a Safari TP cache script 28/03/19 (there's another forSafari TP history):
/usr/bin/killall -KILL nsurlstoraged
find /private/var/folders -name "SafariTechnologyPreview" -exec rm -r {} ; 2>/dev/null -
Scripts for Safari & Safari Technology PreviewNo scripts are needed for Firefox
OK thanks Russell

Scripts for Safari & Safari Technology PreviewDo we need Scripts for Firefox and if so, where weould I find them.

Cookie 5 ScriptsThank you for the response.
I'm not sure which they are but - most likely cached cookies. Since a quit and restart Safari "apparently" eliminates all those cookies that are not set as favourites in Cookie, it sounds as though that is what is happening. Cookie does delete them but it's not reflected in Safari until it's done a restart. If that is the case then I think Cookie is probably working as intended.
In the past Cookie would show in red those cookies marked as tracking ones. Now it simply lists that there are X number tracking cookies. It would be good if the old behaviour could return.

Cookie 5 ScriptsFor some time I've been unsure whether Cookie (app store version) is succesfully deleting cookies and clearing caches, so I've been trying to use them by pasting them in Terminal and then check Safari -> prefs -> privacy -> manage website data to see if they've gone
I'm running as user and cookie has permissions System rw, wheel read only, everyone read only. The scripts are in ~/library/application scripts/com.sweetpproductions.Cookie5
The machine is running Sierra 10.12.6: Safari 11.0.2 (12604.4.7.1.6)
The script pasted in terminal is:
#!/bin/sh
/usr/bin/killall -KILL nsurlstoraged
Google and some other cookies remain (though not listed in Cookie) although only I only have a current connection to the Sweetpproduction site.
What's going on?

Cookie not workingDespite setting Cookie to remove cookies on a timed basis (and on quit), I continually found cookies listed in Firefox (using FF prefs) that should have been removed.
I couldn't figure out why so I deleted Cookie and then reinstalled from the App Store. Now no cookies are appearing in Cookies list - favourite or otherwise - and the app doesn't appear to be doing anything. There are still a shed load of cookies listed under Ffox prefs.
What's going on? I suspect it may be something to do with sandboxing as I run in a user account.
One other point. Where is the file to import previous favourites? The reinstall 'knows' there is one but I can't find it.
-
Not all Cookies not showing in Cookieyeah Cache cookies aren't parsed by Cookie. they are removed if you enable cache removal - although Safari needs to be restarted to display any cache removals.
That may be what's happening. Using Safari, I've unchecked cache removal and the site now appears in the list of sites but still no cookie in the list.
Couple of questions:
I think cache removal needs to be checked/enabled to purge ever-cookies, although if I identify it as a favourite will it overide this?
Will the same apply with Ffox?
The above would mean that for the first few times I use Cookie, I would need to disable cache removal in order to identify any favourites. EG those containing login details for forums and stuff.
-
Not all Cookies not showing in Cookiewhat are your Privacy settings in Safari?
are you running in Private Browsing mode?Privacy: Allow cookies from websites I visit
Not in private browsing mode
Interesting looking at Safari. Some of the stuff is labelled 'cache' but these are not listed in Cookie.

Not all Cookies not showing in CookieFor a fresh install you need to delete the folder:
~/Library/Containers/com.sweetpproductions.Cookie5
OK done all that with a fresh install within my user account with admin privileges, so I should have the correct permissions. Currently these are
user: R+W admin: read only everyone: read only
I then visited http://forums.thinkbroadband.com/threads.php This should set a cookie since it needs it to remember login details. There are also ads from Doubleclick on the site so there will probably be a tracker. Nothing shows in Cookie although one does show up as forums.thinkbroadband.com Another one is from Sweetpproductions and that doesn't show in Cookie, but does in Ffox.
Either Cookie is blocking all non-favourites or it's not doing anything - at present I'm not sure which it is.
-
Not all Cookies not showing in Cookieare the missing cookies cache cookies? if so, Cookie doesn't display them - but does remove them with the cache.
TBH I wouldn't know where to look for cache cookies
In the past any cookies set would display in Cookie so I could make them favourites (or not). Now they don't display but they are listed in either Ffox or Safari prefs. Any site with trackers used to show the number of trackers in red, something that no longer happens.
Let me know where the appropriate logs are and I'll see what I can do. Something changed around the 5.4 update which is why I tried to delete everything and start afresh.
-
Not all Cookies not showing in CookieI currently have my favourites showing in Cookie, but when I visit a new site the Cookies for that site are not showing in Cookie. This means that I can't add them to my favourites should I wish. If I look in either Ffox or Safari they are showing there.
Tracking cookies which used to be highlighted in red are not showing either.
I deleted and reinstalled Cookie from the User account using admin privileges, having done a complete delete using App Delete which normally removes all traces of an app.
Anybody any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?

Cookies 'greyed out'Thanks Russell. I did wonder if it was something like that.
