@happygolucky no, it's worse on firefox, on top of randomly not deleting cookies, it corrupts firefox database with consequances ranging from history breaking, cooking not deleting, websites broken until you fixes your databases (yes! )and then you re on to fix your browser making cookies completely useless. I stopped reporting since chasing cookies corruption is time consuming and it makes me feel i m working q&a for sweetp when releases after releases problems remains.
To restore trust, devs needs to give a lot more informations on what's going on and what are the detailed actions they take to adress these issues rather than providing incremental non or partially working fixes with little to no informations

and most importantly do a lot more tests before releases because those problems appears after a while and can be difficult to trace and reproduce AND when problem happens, it's too late, your browser is already broken.

In the meantime i found a fix: disable cookie for firefox so it stops messing up your places database and destroy your browser, and let firefox handle cookie deletion and whitelisting.

Cookie has NEVER been working correctlly with firefox, made me loose countless productivity time by multiples bugs : corrupting my profile, my extensions, it breaks history, and even breaking the browser (yes some websites doesn't work until you rebuild your database). I made multiple reports here just to see versions over versions with "fixes" that improves nothing. At the end, i just let firefox managing cookies as i m tired of reporting and loosing my profile and history again and again. Makes cookie useless since firefox is my main browser, actually i wish i can get a refund.

So long story short : if you need firefox browser working, stay away from cookie until the dev makes serious work AND tests to provide reliable software that doesn't break your browser. I have enough of chasing database corruption in firefox after cookie "cleans" it, it's going on for months if not years.

Same here, Cookie at this point is totally useless to me: firefox is my main browser (only one that respect privacy and have sync features) and i keep reporting problems her that are not solved (i.e corrupted sqllite). As a side note after trying to remove manually firefox tracking data here is my cookie menu...

SweetP production please do something or state clearly your product is no longer firefox compatible so we can stop loosing time and switch to firefox cookie removal built in features instead

@SweetP Firefox database corrupt again but this time on start (i ve seen a cookie clearing notification) upon starting firefox after login even though my setting are to clear on quit only (?!) removing only Tracking Cookies and Non-Favorites. Cookie 6.0.10 / FF 72.02. Would that be possible to have an update on this as it seems to happens much more frequently and no matter what settings?

Firefox is my main browser and since Catalina, i have countless problems happening randomly.

• sqlite database corruptions, leading to various problems, potentially breaking firefox, really annoying
• security prompt keeps coming up for allowing access no matter what permissions are actually given (full access etc..)
• data corruption leads to loss of history, start page shortcuts gone etc...

I noticed that the security prompts seems to happen more frequently when shutting down mac os without previously closing firefox. My settings are to clear cookies on browser quit only, security prompts mostly happen when starting firefox. Didn't find anyway to reproduce data corruption, seems to be random, may be depending on circumstances on how and when you quit your browser.

But obviously, there's more specific problems coming with firefox (71), cookie 6.0.8 and before. I updated today to 6.0.9 but nothing specific seems to address this in the release notes and so my post.
Any suggestions to avoid those data corruption would be welcome, as in it's current state it's not reliable at all and you risk loosing your browser data at any time.
Note that i have synchronization enabled with other devices and i didn't check yet if my other devices are also possibly affected, may be depending what one have to do to actually restore a working firefox (ie i don't know what happen to your other devices data after you had to delete the sqlite database
