Palette Sync With Apple Color Picker Not Working
-
I recently purchased ColorWell; one of the features I was most looking forward to is syncing Palette's. I assumed this would overcome the problem of the Apple Color Picker's Palettes not updating in real time. Currently, after creating or changing a Palette, those changes do not appear in other applications until they are restarted.
Unfortunately, ColorWell's Palette Syncing feature is not working. For palette's created in either Apple Color Picker or ColorWell, it is impossible to rename the color in a palette in Apple Color Picke (or ColorWell, as far I can determine.) After entering the new name in the field, it will revert back to the original name. This may happen immediately, or after leaving the Palette pane and subsequently returning. Adding a new color in an ACP Palette creates in ColorWell a second copy of the palette. I experienced additional problems as well; they are virtually impossible to describe, but with ColorWell installed, palettes were not functional.
ColorWell has a lot of potential for me. Hopefully these problems will be resolved.

ColorWell 7.3.6@DMB After re-reading my own post, I apologize for omitting the basic problem: ColorWell's Palette Syncing feature is not working. Changes made in either Apple Color Picker or ColorWell are not reflected in the other. Also, changes made in an app using Apple Color Picker do not appear in other apps until they are restarted.

@DMB Im not sure Apple provides a way to force push changes. So I don't think there is a way to achieve what you are looking for.

@SweetP Thank you for your response. However, it leaves me confused. The first feature listed on your website is "Palette synchronization with macOS system palettes". What, then, does this feature provide?
Thank you for your assistance. -
@DMB ColorWell does synchronise system palettes, but because of how other apps are accessing the palettes, they may not be getting the most up to date palettes. Ill look and see if there's anyway of forcing other apps to re-read the palettes
@SweetP Okay, I understand. I must have been reading what I wanted into that statement. I appreciate your taking a look at forcing a sync. My idea was that I would create and manage palette's in ColorWell, which would keep palettes in Apple Color Picker updated in real time. That way I could use the Apple Color Picker in applications because it is readily available. I expect other people would find such a capability useful as well.
