Cookie 6 and Safari 16
-
It seems that the behavior of Cookie has changed with the release of Safari 16, it does not delete all cookies it did in Safari 15.x
I wonder if I am the only one seeing this.
If needed I can provide an example, but before I do that I would like to know if this is a known issue?
My configuration:
MacBook Air M1
macOS Monterey 12.6
Safari 16.0
Cookie 6.7.4 (App Store version) -
@herman I’ll test this later tonight

Thank you!
Please let me know if you need details about my settings etc. -
I have a similar problem... in that, sorry for the long post and complicated but...
I had locked myself out forgetting my Mac password;
I finally got back in but cookie kept requesting Permissions;
Then, between all this, I had updated to Monterey ?? , accidentally and crazy from being locked out.
anyway, cookie is not deleting all 'things' and I'm wondering.. after re-installing today 22.09.2022, do I need the file 'CookieScripts.dmg'?on the reinstall I gave cookie Global access...
Anyway, safari Version 16.0 (17614.1.25.9.10, 17614)
macOS Monterey 12.6 (21G115)
cookie v6.7.4thanks for any help

I cannot get Cookie 6.7.4 to work with Safari 16. I have not had this problem with Cookie before.
Cookies are not showing in the Cookie window and consequently are not being removed.
iMac 2019 Retina 5K
Monterrey 12.6
Safari 16.0
Cookie 6.7.4 (non App Store version) -
I have a Safari 16 compatible build almost ready to go. If all goes well, it should be available this weekend.
-
@SweetP Thank you, looking forward to it.
Take your time, better safe than sorry -
Ive just released v6.7.4.1 as a Beta release. If any of you are running the version from my Store - you can updates to this version from the Updates tab
-
@SweetP Hi where can I find the update tab. I want to download the beta since I have the same problem.
-
@Master-Yoda the beta is only available if you are using the version from my store. And the update tab would be in preferences
-
@SweetP Thanks a lot Russel, well done.
I installed the 6.7.4.1 Beta over 6.7.4 on Mac OS 12.6 with Safari 16.0.
I can see "localstorage.sqlite3" local storage data again, which gets removed after Safari quits. -
@Brownie great!
local storage and indexedDB's are now in a completely different location/format in Safari 16 -
@SweetP Unfortunately, I had problems to allow permissions in the enable browsers dialogs after I removed all sandbox permissions with 6.7.4.1 Beta. I got a spinning wheel of death (beachball). I worked around it by force quitting 6.7.4.1 Beta and did it in 6.7.4.
-
@Brownie yup, I see this too. Ill get this fixed and release another beta asap. thx for the feedback
-
@Brownie Ive just uploaded Beta version 6.7.4.2 which should fix the permissions issue
-
@SweetP Works for me. Thanks a lot Russell.
-
@Brownie nice!
thanks -
@SweetP Version 6.8 trickled down the AppStore, problem fixed.
Thank you Russell! -
@herman great!
-
- I installed 6.8.
- Visited https://logbuch-netzpolitik.de
- I pressed the big play-button on the podcast controller on this page.
- I quit Safari.
1 cookie gets deleted but 2 localstorage.sqlite3 entries for that site remains undeleted. They even cannot be deleted by pressing any delete button inside Cookies.
Is that reproducible?
