Since updating Safari to version 14, websites that use the visual recaptcha for verification have not been working. Specifically, the window with the usual photos such as crosswalks or stoplights, etc. does not pop up. I use a number of extension with Safari such as Honey, LastPass, Downie, and Magic Lasso. I turned them all off in order to find the problem but had no success. I then turned the extensions back on and turned quit out of Cookie. The websites using recapthca now worked properly.

@sweetp I'm having this problem as well. Disabling the timer does not fix the issue, only a full quit on Cookie and restarting the browser. Do you have a ETA for a fix? Thank you.

I too am having this problem. It seems there may be some interaction between Cookie6 and 'Prevent cross-site tracking' in Safari 14.

            • Disabling 'Prevent cross-site tracking' allows reCaptcha to load.
            • Browsing w/o Cookie allows reCaptcah to load.

Ideally, I'd like to have Cookie AND Prevent cross-site tracking working.

@captainproton Follow-up: de-selecting cache as unwanted data and as data to automatically remove resolved this problem for me.

I've been experiencing the same problem with reCaptcha. Deselecting cache as unwanted data to automatically remove as CaptainProton suggested seems to have worked for me as well. Under Cookie 5, I'm pretty certain that I chose to have caches automatically removed which did not break reCaptcha. I would like to have caches automatically removed under Cookie 6. Is this behavior a Cookie 6 bug that you plan to fix?

I posted a detailed explanation over here:
                  https://support.sweetpproductions.com/topic/712/safari-14-big-sur-cookie-6-runaway-safari-networking/8

basically this is an issue with how Safari handles missing data which Cookie has no control over...
                  😞
