If I try to restore a whole sessions (multiple windows with multiple tabs) it is only restore a few windows with 1-3 of the tabs. If I try to restore one window saved with 41 tabs, it is only restoring the first 11-14 of them.

    I'm on MacOS 13.4.1 (c) and Safari Version 16.5.2 (18615.2.9.11.10)

I have similar problem, but mine doesn't save anything, it closes the Safari extension dropdown bubble and then nothing. Trying to save from the app also does not save anything. App remains open but no auto-saves and forced saves don't actually save anything – not even a new entry in the Saved Sessions list.

I wonder if there's a max number of windows and/or tabs Session Restore can handle. I admittedly have a $hitload of both.

    Last Auto-save: 2023/06/02, Last Forced Save: 2023/06/24
Restart or First Aid (fsck) no help.
MacOS Monterey 12.6.7, Safari 16.5.2, MBP M1 Pro

Well, this plugin is now useless for me. Too bad actually paid for it. I have to question whether it might be abandoned at this point. Too bad, it was a pretty nice little utility.

    Its not abandoned,
I just can't reproduce your issue.
    you could try a reset:

    • Close SessionRestore, and Safari
    • delete these 3 folders:
      ~/Library/Containers/com.sweetpproductions.SessionRestore
      ~/Library/Containers/com.sweetpproductions.SessionRestore.Extension
      ~/Library/Group Containers/U928YCMMNK.com.sweetpproductions.SessionRestore

Hmm, I only just now saw your reply. I never got an email alert that there was a new post!

So, it hasn't been working at all for a couple months.
I updated an hour ago to the OS X Monterey update (12.6.8). I closed Safari before starting the update so it would save my gobs of windows ~40+ and tabs. Unfortunately, when the update finally finished and restarted, I clicked on an email that opened a Safari window. So now I have Safari open again, with one single window. I always run fsck or Disk Utility > First Aid after updates, so I did that – completely forgetting about the open Safari window – so now I just lost all my previous windows and tabs.

So, after First Aid completes, I Restart again, open Safari, click on Session Restore extension icon and Boom! Suddenly it is now working. Autosave and manual saves. This is such a simple easy to use extension (and all the others in app store are either crap or abandoned) I wish it would work consistently.

If/when (I hope never) it becomes non-operational for me again, I will try deleting the 3 folders you recommended above.

    Cheers,
    Jeff
