Sandbox permissionson theAdvancedtab in Preferences, and also try restarting your computer.also, the App Store version is the same in functionality as the version from my store. you just need to manually install the Safari script to remove search history:

it won't screw up your browser, it resets Cookie's permissions. which is what you are having trouble with. all that will happen, is your browsers in Cookie will become disabled, and Automatic removals will be switched off.
all you need to do, is give Cookie permission to access paths on your computer again, and you'll have to re-enable your browsers and re-enable Cookie Automatic removals. it'll will take less than 30s to re-enable everything.

Actually, I tried resetting Sandbox permissions since my last post. I reset all, but MacOS STILL will not grant Cookie access to "/private/var/folders" (the last folder path in the Safari list, you list "purpose" as "Access to extra cache"). These folders are PROTECTED by the OS, and OS users do not have permission to modify them. Bottom line is, under the CURRENT MacOS (10.15.6, released about one week ago), the OS will not ALLOW the Cookie app access to "/private/var/folders", so Safari can never be enabled in Cookie. I bought Cookie specifically for Safari use. How do I get a refund from my App Store purchase?

Well, it works on my system, and also on others. Something is up with your system.
How are you enabling permissions in Cookie? Globally or individually?
There could be a bug depending on how you enable permissions?
You need to search online for Mac App Store refunds.

What MacOS version are you using? Apple is constantly upgrading their system security, so if you are not using OS 10.15.6, you are not current.
I have tried enabling BOTH ways, globally AND individually. Globally gives file access to all EXCEPT "/private/var/folders" at once. Individually, each is granted file access one by one EXCEPT "/private/var/folders", which CAN NOT be given access.
Why does your app demand access permissions to folders that are PROTECTED by the MacOS? Why does your app list these folders as "NOT required" for enabling (no checkmark in "required" column), yet one can not enable the browser without it? I guess it IS required, yes?
Search online for Mac App Store refunds? Not a good answer. You sell your product thru them, yet you do not back it up? Keep in mind that I have also tried the version downloaded directly from your site also, same results. I would buy direct, but I would have to pay twice for an app that is not compatible with my OS. Refund my App Store purchase, and I will buy direct and work with you on a fix.

I am using the latest version of macOS of course. Cookie asks for access to the private folder because thats where Safari stores cache files. if you're happy with a partial deletion of cache, then don't allow it. thats why its not required.
And I cant refund your purchase from Apple. Apple doesn't give developers ANY info on purchases, and it most definitely doesn't give me authority to issue refunds. thats why I say look online.
I can easily manually create a license for the version from my store though, to save the hassle of asking Apple for a refund, then repurchasing. just send me an email with what name and email you would like attached to the license.

Cookies will NOT enable Safari WITHOUT access to the RESTRICTED OS-Protected folder. You list the folder as not required for Safari enabling, but in fact ALL file permissions MUST be granted (required or not) before Cookie will enable Safari. There is NO "enable without access to..." possibility.
I will work with Apple for a refund. I will not be using Cookie on my system. I will be rating it poorly, as "incompatible" on the App Store.

This is a bug, and I am fixing it right now. Ill post an update to my store in around an hour, and also upload to Apple for review - it should be available in the App Store later today
