Are you running the latest version of Firefox?

    Yes. Firefox 68.0.2
    Safari 11.1.2 on 10.11.6
i will post more details of the chaos tomorrow.
For Safari, I don't think Cookie5 is recognizing it's Safari scripts.
For Firefox, Cookie5 shows no cookies or databases etc...

I can revert the script changes no problem.

As for Firefox, it is becoming harder to manage...
It doesn't like having cookies removed whilst open anymore, and this can cause corruption to its cookie file.

Yeah, I've given up on Cookie5 with Firefox on my primary High Sierra system. Which is a shame... I just thought I'd give it another try on our old ElCapitan machine. Although, I I don't think I've ever asked Cookie5 to ever clear data while a browser is running... So, I'm sure that is the cause of our Firefox problems.

v5.9.14 has been approved in the App Store, so should be available for updating any minute now

I've deleted every Cookie5 related folder and file that I can find and then deleted the Cookie5 MAS app via LaunchPad as well as deleting Safari cookie related files in ~Library/Cookies and restarted. I then reinstalled Cookie5 5.9.14 from MAS.
I accepted the Sandbox permissions for my Home directory. I configured Cookie5 for automatic removal of Safari data when the Browser Quits. I added the Safari scripts from the CookieScripts.dmg dated 2019-03-28. Cookie5 then prompted me with several open/save dialogs and said that it had updated the Safari scripts.

But, Cookie5 still does not remove ANY Safari data. Even if I manually Choose "Remove Safari Unwanted Data" (while Safari is not open) Cookie5 does not remove any Safari data. It shows a continuously spinning gear in the Cookie5 Safari pane.

I'll be right back, I have to go punch a hole in the wall with my head...

@Timmy take a look at this thread,
your scripts may have the wrong permissions:

    Success is almost at hand!!
Thanks for the permissions tip, Russell!
I've used chmod 755 on the Safari scripts and now Safari data removal is working!!!

The only remaining issue is that Cookie5 fails to launch at startup/login despite having Display->Open Cookie at login->and Hide selected. I've tried toggling this off and back on with no improvement.
(Cookie5 is not listed in Users & Groups->Login Items)

    Strange that startup isn't working?
Cookie 5 should not be listed in System Preferences, as that causes a conflict with the startup preferences in Cookie.

Yes. I do understand that Cookie5 should not be in the Login Items.
I only mentioned it for background info on the issue.

I've deleted com.sweetpproductions.Cookie5.plist and reconfirmed the settings in the SetUp Window and now Cookie5 is launching properly at startup!
So, Cookie5 is now working faily well on ElCapitan with Safari 11.1.2 and Chrome** 76.0.3809.100.

**In Chrome Cookie5 still resets our preference setting for disabling "Preload pages for faster browsing and searching." This happens both on ElCapitan and High Sierra.

Good to hear, is that a website preference option?
