Wifi-spoof is not working on Macbook 2018. What is the status? Everything is possible.

@notsweet It just isn't possible. Apple has disabled the ability to do this. All we can hope is a firmware update to the MacBook Pro re-adding this ability.

You could send Apple a bug report asking why the ability to change you MAC address was disabled in the new MacBook Pro.

        https://developer.apple.com/bug-reporting/

sorry I dont have better news. The new MacBook Pro are more like iPad now...

@kris is that working on a 2018 mbp?

            what's your setup?
have you given Terminal.app Full Disk Access in System Preferences?

            I don't have a 2018 mbp to test with

I'm not sure if my 2016 MacBook 12", on Mojave, is affected by this or not. The IP shows as successfully changed in ifconfig, but not in the Network Preferences > Advanced > Hardware area. Is that normal?

My specific laptop aside, here are the other discussions I found on this, in case this helps:

@EarthLaunch that is normal. System Preferences shows the Hardware Address. But ifconfig shows the current address which your device is identified as.

I already know of all those links, except the one on the Apple Dev forums.

One of the replies there does not look great for the future of spoofing on macOS, which ironically goes against Apple's very public image of pro Privacy....

                Alright everyone.

My ticket has been closed and I pinged a bunch of friends I have that work at Apple HQ.

Final result. This is not a bug. Apple is removing this feature for security reasons.
This makes no sense since doing this does not put the individual doing it at a security risk.
But I don't. Im so done with the platform. You can't just remove ifconfig functionality.
Thats not how any of this works.

Lovely...just @^#%ing lovely. And I just purchased your software recently.

BTW, I have had other issues, too, with Mojave. I am running 10.14.2, and am seriously thinking of going back to 10.13.6.

@EarthLaunch As the headline reads, the matter refers only to 2018 and later. There are no issues with previous versions.

According to 3rd party sources... it looks as though Apple may be fixing this issue in macOS Catalina:

@SweetP I see Catalina supports spoofing again, but does wifispoof work with Catalina in 2018/19 devices? Specifically a 2019 Macbook Air. Thanks!
