Cookie 5 deletes Favorites as well

From time to time, Cookie 5 is also deleting all the Favorites (or maybe not remembering the Favs anymore, whatever). It happens both for Safari and Chrome. My settings are to delete cookies when the browser closes and when logging in (deleting tracking cookies and non-favorites). It does not happen every time, just sometimes. Is this a known bug?

I'm having the same issue. Once a week or so, Cookie will forget which cookies I've checked as favorites, so it deletes everything.... AND I have to re-teach it which cookies I want to keep. Whitelisted cookies (as opposed to favorites) seem immune.

do you both use other cleaning utilities?

Onyx, Privacy Scan, Privacy Guard, iCleanup Pro etc....

none of these other apps will respect Cookie's settings and will wipe all data just as you are experiencing.

I am having this same problem.

My favorites are deleted multiple times daily. In fact, there is now no reason to select favorites. This bug makes the application useless.

I do not use any of the cleaning utilities mentioned above.

Could you try this build:

It should (hopefully)crash when you lose all favourites.

If you open Applications/Utilities/Console.app
And search for Cookie, you should find a link to the crash report, if you could send me the crash report(s), that should give me hopefully a clue....

This build does not delete my favorites and does not crash. The Mac App Store version, however, does delete my favorites. What should I do?

I went back to the Mac App Store version, and it deleted my favorites again. I have now deleted that version entirely from my computer.

I have just installed this beta:

So far feedback seems that the bug has been fixed.
As this seems to be quite a problem for a number of users - I've uploaded v5.0.10.8 to Apple for review as what will become v5.0.11.

Hopefully it will be reviewed asap.

This beta version (5.0.10.8) has not deleted my favorites in the past 12+ hours. So far so good.

Update: 5.0.11 (Mac App Store) is working well. No more deletion of favorites. Thanks for fixing this!

I've been using the test (crashy) version for 9 days now, with no crashes or favorites deletions.
