Safari Website Data
-
I'm using Safari 5.16 on Lion, and in preferences there is a tab called "Privacy." This tab allows one to "Remove All Website Data."
Cookie will not clear this data. I must still clear it manually from Safari. Is there some way for Cookie to remove this data as well?
Thank you.

Hi,
Safari tends to hold references to cache cookies/history and databases in RAM, you can check this by restarting Safari. Cookie does in fact physically remove all these items from disk, but i don't know of a way to 'force' Safari to update its internal references.

Thank you for the response. If Cookie removes this information from disk, but Safari keeps the information in Ram, does this mean that tracking still occurs at some level? Or is the physical removal of this information from disk by Cookie enough?

sorry about the delayed response. (i never received a notification about your reply)
yes, tracking cannot occur if the cookie has been physically removed. However there can be some website display issues when removing cookies whilst the browser is running. (last time I checked, this was the case for youtube)
