Can't add/remove any cookies from list

I have the issue that I can't add or delete any cookies by checking the little boxes under the "heart". All cookies I selected in the previous app are still in the list. But again, I can't deactive them.
I noticed the "apple circle" which is running for ages. Even if it stopped, I can't do anything.

Do you have Synchronize with Browser Bookmarks checked in the Advanced tab in Settings?
If so, disable it, as this would cause Cookie to not allow manual selection of favorites.

@aidan7 ah sorry, I thought your issue was fixed. all I can suggest is a reset of Cookie, and perhaps also a computer restart,
- Quit Cookie
- delete this folder:
~/Library/Containers/com.sweetpproductions.Cookie.app
or maybe its (I forget what format Ventura used):
~/Library/Containers/Cookie - empty your trash
- maybe also restart your computer here
- open Cookie and run through the setup again
make sure Cookie still has full disk access

@SweetP HI Russel - I'm not a techie and those suggestions make me uneasy. What you suggest seems complicated. Will that wipe out all of my cookies, including my favorites? That would be disastrous. I've updated in the past without issues. It's fine in Firefox btw. But almost everything is set up in Safari. I didn't change anything on my system. I'm using Safari 16.3 and Ventura 13.2
