Thanks yet again! This resolved the differences. A distinction I had not noticed before.

automatic removals not working -
automatic removals not workingI also notice that Cookie is not removing cookies as viewed in the Safari Privacy tab>Manage Website Data. I did a specific test with 1 site to see if it would remove it - it does not.
I did this because when I examined the Safari Website data there are a lot of cookies there that should have been cleared.
I am running a licensed version of Cookie 6, macOS Ventura.
Note that the behavior I am reporting is only since I replaced my computer. It is the new one exhibiting the behavior.

Greyed out lines in cookie windowI just installed Cookie on a new Mac computer.
-
It is leaving a lot of items labeled as Cache - as seen in the privacy tab of safari
-
over 400 lines of items with check marks are listed and greyed out. The items are web sites from long ago.
I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling Cookie without result. I have not yet tried to restart the computer - and cannot until the new online backup completes.
Thanx.

Notifications - not displayingThanks. I have already done those things a number of times.

Notifications - not displayingI run Cookie 6.6.2 on 2 computers. One of them (MacAirBook) displays notifications when Safari quits. The other (iMac) does not display the notifications.
As best I can tell the settings are the same on both computers. Both computers run macOS 11.6.1 and Cookie 6.6.2.
Please understand this is not a huge problem. Just a minor annoyance. I love this app.
Thanks.
