    • RE: Forced to delete & re-download then App store not providing download link

After rebooting my computer I ended back in the loop again. I could download the app but was informed that the app was bad, delete and re-download. At that point I did reach out to Apple and the only thing they could come up with is that I should reinstall MacOS. This has fixed the problem, for now. The problem has hit me several times in the past several months.

FYI, before reinstalling I had a similar issue when trying to open 1Password to get my credentials for another site. So it isn't isolated to your app. In the future I will go straight for Apple Support.

Not sure what is happening to MacOS or why but it certainly is discouraging.

I do want to thank you for your timely response & for a great product.

    • Forced to delete & re-download then App store not providing download link

      Hi,
Got a notice from MacOS today that there had been an update to Cookie 5. So I gave permission to update the app. At that point I was asked for the password I had used to purchase this app because it was purchased on another computer (as an aside I purchased Cookie 5 on the same computer not a different computer). In any case I entered the password, which had not changed either, and then was informed by Mac OS that the file was "bad" and needed to be deleted from the app store and re-installed. I deleted the file however when I went to the app store I could not re-download the app. I was never provided a link to download the app. I have attempted to upload a screenshot of the App Store page but the support tool is telling me it has some sort or parsing error when it uploads the PNG. I've tried several times to no avail.
If this issue is on my end I will reach out to Apple.

    • RE: Install from App store not able to run. Get error "Cookie 5 is damaged"

I ended up reinstalling macOS because this same problem was appearing for a few more apps (Yoink & 1Password). Once I was back up and running I re-installed Cookie 5. Went through the configuration steps and had to re-start Cookie 5 after allowing it it Full File Access in privacy settings. Upon restart I was presented with a window that stated that the app was purchased on a different computer (my previous iMac) and asked me to re-enter the Apple-ID password that I used for the purchase. This is the same password I currently use, so I entered it and then started to receive the damaged app notifications again.

So I deleted the app, rebooted, reinstalled and everything appears to be working properly.

Is the prompt to enter my AppleID password generated by your code because of something it is detecting or is it generated by Apple? I ask because it seems to me to be a problem asking for old passwords. Old passwords could have been compromised, forgotten, etc. If it is Apple I want to submit feedback to them.

    • Install from App store not able to run. Get error "Cookie 5 is damaged"

I just updated to version 5.9.2 and I am now getting an error telling me that Cookie 5 is damaged and I should delete it and reinstall it from the app store. I do this but the problem persists. Previously when this happened I believe it was an issue with app store.

Also FYI when I was updating the app I was asked me for my AppleID at the time I purchased Cookie 5. I believe I got this right but am not 100% certain. It was a while ago.

    • Slightly different install problem

I too have update issues.  I'm not being asked for credentials, instead I am getting a notice the the Cookie5 app is corrupt and being told to delete it and reinstall it from the app store.  I do this and the same message reappears.

I assume this will be fixed with the version 5.8.2 update so no need to respond to this post, just wanted to let you know about the different issue I am seeing.

If this continues I will let you know!

    • ITunes / Safari cookies question

I have been having some annoying issues with iTunes where it continually prompts me for my AppleID password (6 times minimum). In the process of trying to work this out with Apple support they have told me that if my cookie settings in Safari block all cookies it may be causing the problem. I do not block all cookies (I do block 3'rd party... cookies).

Is it possible that Cookies is somehow creating this problem or corrupting something that results in iTunes continually asking for me to re-enter my password??

I understand there isn't much info to go on but thought it would be worthwhile seeing if anyone else using Cookies has seen similar issues.

      Thanks
