    • Installing a Safari helper leads to a blank screen that is supposed to display a file. Only option is to cancel
    • All C 7 Menu bar icons are greyed out on menu bar to almost invisibility on all menu bar backgrounds.
    • In setup all checkboxes for cookies have to be individually selected and address instead of allowing multiple selections are selecting all of them and addressing them at a single click.

The first item is a class 2 bug. The rest are class 3, but very annoying.

All of these issues seem to have no workaround and are quite obvious. Please improve your SQA/Testing before release. In my opinion, paid customers should not have to provide functionality as volunteer beta testers.

@jimweil said in Several C 7 Issues - Needs better SQA before release:

    • Installing a Safari helper leads to a blank screen that is supposed to display a file. Only option is to cancel

this should be fixed in v7.0.2

    • All C 7 Menu bar icons are greyed out on menu bar to almost invisibility on all menu bar backgrounds.

this means Automatic removal is not running

    • In setup all checkboxes for cookies have to be individually selected and address instead of allowing multiple selections are selecting all of them and addressing them at a single click.

you should be able to select multiple domains and use the context menu (control - click) to multiple check

@SweetP : The script issue was not fixed in 7.02. I had to do the following to install it:

    • First as a test: completely uninstall Cookie 7.02 using an uninstaller and following with a Mac search engine to remove all Cookie supporting files and folders to do a clean install.
    • Download and install a fresh copy of Cookie 7.0w
    • Check the ~/library/application scripts folder as still blank with Finder at which time I found it locked and inaccessible despite proper user permissions.
    • Deleted it and created a new folder with the same name in Application Scripts
    • Opened up Cookie contents/Resources and copied the shell scripts to the new Application Scripts/com.sweetpproductions.cookie folder

Now everything is in place and hopefully it will work. However I have no idea as I rarely use Safari.

You really need to fix this issue and have lost confidence in your products due to this issue. As a paid customer I should not have to be a volunteer beta tester and fix bugs! I used to get paid for this stuff when I worked for Apple.

Even Apple with their billions have bugs in their apps. Im just one guy, and this issue didn't come up at all in testing and I can't reproduce it .

But I think I may have a solution, and ill be releasing an updated build hopefully later today
    🙂

Your product has become an nightmare. The Safari script that goes into the Application scripts is incompatible with Ventura 13.5.2. The script installs as some form of an app that Ventura rejects and constantly gives error messages to remove it. Cookie then keeps giving messages to install install it. This needs to be fixed SOON!!! Not sure yet but Cookie may have something to do with corrupting the User Folder as it may prevent Full Disk Access from properly loading which interferes with many other Apps requiring it.

This should be fixed in the latest Beta, you can access it from the Updates tab in Settings

The problem all stems from the fact that Cookie now has a bundle identifier of com.sweetpproductions.cookie.app macOS treats the folder as an app bundle rather than a folder... 🤦

I just downloaded the App Store version (7.0.5) and the Safari History is no clearing. The page at https://sweetpproductions.com/products/cookie7/scripts/en.htm shows the path as "~/Library/Application Scripts/com.sweetpproductions.Cookie.App/." I cannot open that using the button on that page (the result is "You can’t open the application “com.sweetpproductions.cookie.app” because it may be damaged or incomplete") as noted above.

But I can open that in the terminal easily, and I copied the scripts in there. I have full disk access confirmed, but it's still not working to remove Safari data. No errors, no prompts to install anything. Is the App Store version broken until there is an update? Can I download the website version and use my license?

    Thanks!

You need Cookie open before that link will work. Also Safari needs to be restarted before the History clearing is updated correctly in the UI. And one other thing, if you have iCloud enabled, the history can be restored via that....

Safari isn't the friendliest app to interact with unfortunately

Re the link: With Cookie open, after the dialog "Do you want to allow this page to open “Cookie.app”?", Cookie comes to the foreground and I get another dialog "You can’t open the application “com.sweetpproductions.cookie.app” because it may be damaged or incomplete." I assume that's because of the bundle ID? So is ~/Library/Application Scripts/com.sweetpproductions.Cookie.App/ the correct path?
