Privatus in Mojave after quitting Safari

There are other posts about this here, but it is very confusing to follow what solution (if any) there is to the problem of Privatus asking for access to a folder, when nothing is highlighted in the dialog!
The "Allow" button is highlighted in blue the first time (and I push it) but then is dimmed when the next (identical) dialog box pops up.
I would appreciate an answer to how to stop this irritating behavior from happening.

@flubnflub this is an odd bug, someone else had success by clicking cancel the second time the dialog shows...
