The license is the same as the Mac App Store license. You can can use it for all your own computers, and users on those computers.

v3.0.14 should fix this issue, and is available in the Mac App Store, and on my own servers.

  • Cookie 3.0.12 ok with Safari 5.1.9/6.0.4?

Since upgrading to Safari 6.0.4 I have had repeated computer crashes. I noticed a discussion at Apple support
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4979195?start=0&tstart=0

Implicating SIMBL, which Safari Cookies apparently uses, in repeated Safari crashes. Nobody else reported the whole system hanging, which is what happened in my case.

Also my computer (running OSX 1.8.3) has a Crash log saved with a filename SIMBL.

If there is a compatibility issue here, it is quite serious. But it does not show up all the time. I cannot say what triggers it.

If SIMBL and Safari Cookies are to involved in my crashes, I hope that the issue can be resolved as I like what this useful add-in does. And speaking for myself only, I hope it is not my Macbook Pro hardware that is to blame.

    ah ok,

you can use the Smart Import function, either in the setup wizard, or from the menus.
the easiest way, is to right-click/control-click in the cookie widow to bring up the contextual menu, and select "Smart Import..."

Cookie will choose you cookie favs for you, you should double-check them though.
Flash/Silverlight/and Databases will need to be checked manually though. You're are generally ok to just delete all of these.....

You should also make sure that on the preferences tab, you have "Treat all Browser Extensions as Favourites" checked. (so as to preserve any settings for extensions you have installed.

Hi- Installed on my MacBookPro and with 10.8.3 and it started at login no problem; it also seems to work more smoothly and I do not see the "update gear" spinning like I did on 12. However, why would there be two cookie icons in my dock (both are for 12b)?

Thanks for your continued work on this great product!

Thanks you so much, I definitely will give it a try but to be fair: this problem hasn't occurred for a long time now. I can't remember when was the last time I had to reset, but it must have been months ago.
So somehow it seems to be fixed already (or I've just been lucky).
    Many thanks for your support.
    Cheers, Leo

a quick fix is to "Reset all Warnings" on the preferences tab....

this will now force Cookie to (re)display a warning before you remove any data.

    thats good,
If the Icon is sitting down on your Dock, that means its running.
You should be able to click on it to open Cookie, to view its settings, and all your cookies.

sorry for the long delay, I should be getting notifications for new threads....
Im not sure what happened with your favourites.

http cookies are a little flakey on Snow Leopard (Apples fault, not mine).
I'm sorry about your cookies, I havnt heard any problems from any other Snow Leopard users though, so I'm not sure if this is a widespread issue.

As for the Privacy pane in Safari, this also lists cache cookies, and databases. Cookie does rmove cache cookies, if you configure it too. but it doesn't itemise them. Databases are listed on Cookie Databases tab.

Also, if you remove cookies from within Cookie, whilst Safari is running. There is no way for Cookie to tell Safari to update its internal references. This means that, even while the cookies have been removed permanently from disk, Safari "thinks" they are still there. this can cause render issues on some sites. (youtube i think)

this behaviour is apparent only for cache cookies/databases, and history. normal http cookies are updated accordingly in Safari.

Update: A bit more testing. Now seems I can do without the "lu" cookie as well, without losing my login. So conclusion is you can stay logged in to FB by whitelisting the two cookies: "c_user" and "xs".

Knowing FB, this could all change at some future time.

    Hope this helps someone.
